Amsterdam, 23rd May, 2013 – TP Vision introduces the new Philips Signature range of perfectly designed hotel TVs. With their frameless, slim looks and 2-sided Ambilight, the sets fit well in stylish hotel guest rooms. The high-class, 3D-enabled TVs are packed with the best-of-the-best of Philips Hospitality TV’s comprehensive portfolio of hotel features and services. The Philips Signature Hospitality TV range features two models with screen sizes of 107cm (42”) and 119cm (47”). They will be available in Europe, Russia, Australia and New Zealand from the second quarter of 2013 onwards.

Frameless TV design lets hotels stand out from the crowd
The Philips Signature range is a sophisticated hotel entertainment solution that complements beautifully styled guest rooms, hotel lobbies and lounges. The new minimalist Signature hotel TVs feature a bezel-free front sitting in a thin rim of brushed aluminium with a silver-coloured strip below the screen. Although they are only 3.5mm thick, the Signature TVs feature 2-sided Ambilight; a light technology that virtually expands the TV screens by projecting light onto the wall behind the set.

Philips OXIGEN meets the needs of hoteliers
Supporting Philips OXIGEN, Philips Signature hospitality TVs offer a comprehensive feature set dedicated to the hospitality business. Philips OXIGEN features are designed to deliver both guests and hoteliers the latest in connectivity while ensuring low cost of ownership. OXIGEN connectivity offers access to cloud-based online apps and ensures that mobile devices can communicate with the TV while remote management tools as well as additional revenue opportunities allow for additional revenues.

Hassle-free connectivity for guests and hoteliers
Despite measuring only 3.5mm thick, these new hotel TVs do not trade this off with connectivity. To serve both guests and hoteliers well, they have Wi-fi, Ethernet, HDMI and USB on board. Integrated IPTV and support of Serial Xpress Protocol (SXP) allow Philips Signature TVs to seamlessly connect to existing interactive systems as well as IPTV channels. They can even run interactive systems without a set-top box.

Remote configuration and maintenance
The PC-based remote configuration tool SmartInstall makes installation and maintenance of TVs efficient and easy. It allows fast installation, cloning of settings, software upgrading and channel mapping without the need to enter hotel rooms.

Secure and customised Smart TV services
Guests can access the large number of apps, catch-up TV services and social media networks via the cloud-based Philips Smart TV platform. To ensure data privacy, Smart TV automatically deletes personal information after usage. AppControl allows hoteliers to add, delete and sort apps and create different profiles for different rooms. To facilitate configuration, app settings can easily be changed remotely on the TVs. This means hoteliers can choose to offer the full spectrum of Smart TV services with premium options for some rooms whilst other rooms might have a reduced feature set only.

Displaying private content securely on hotel TVs
Secure SimplyShare is a content sharing feature specifically designed for the hospitality environment. It allows guests to connect their mobile Android or iOS devices wirelessly to Philips Signature hospitality TVs and enjoy their content on a big screen. However, Secure SimplyShare hosts a unique pairing functionality that ensures that guests won’t unintentionally play their private content on TVs next to their own room.

Leveraging consumer TV’s proven picture quality technology
When watching TV in hotels, guests want to experience the same superb picture quality they are used to at home. Philips Signature hospitality TVs have proven Full HD TV technology on board. They display stunning, colour-full and bright images with great contrast and sharpness. Signature hotel TVs allow guests to watch 3D movies by wearing lightweight glasses that do not require batteries.

Interactive, customised hotel info pages
SmartInfo allows hoteliers to share customized information with their guests. They receive up-to-date hotel or city information and relevant promotions like spa or restaurant offerings on-screen. Templates help hoteliers to create interactive SmartInfo pages.

Sustainability
Thanks to their low power consumption Philips Signature TVs are allowed to carry energy label ratings A+. In addition, guests can actively contribute to energy saving by pressing the green button on their TV’s remote control. The button easily switches the TV into energy efficient mode. For example, when listening to the radio on their TV, guests may choose to switch off the image completely. This can further reduce energy consumption by 50%.
