Amsterdam, 10th July, 2013 – TP Vision introduces two new Philips Ambilight features: firstly, Ambilight 4-sided XL on the Philips Elevation TV; secondly, the integration of the Philips Hue connected LED lighting system with Ambilight.
Four-sided Ambilight
TP Vision continuously improves Ambilight – a unique lighting technology – on Philips TVs. TP Vision engineers have invented a new Ambilight technology that provides a bigger, softer and warmer glow around all four sides of the TV. Ambilight 4-sided XL on the new 152cm (60”) Philips Elevation TV uses 94 powerful LEDs centrally mounted at the back. Providing a large Ambilight halo around the screen and matching the colours to the displayed content, Ambilight 4-sided XL expands the screen virtually. The Philips Elevation TV will be available in Europe and Russia in the third quarter of 2013.
Ambilight+hue app
TP Vision has developed a special ‘Ambilight+hue’ app for Android and iOS smart devices. The app brings Ambilight’s smart lighting effects to Philips Hue LED bulbs. The combination of Ambilight plus hue expands the TV experience into the whole living room making the TV experience more immersive than ever before. It allows owners of an Ambilight enabled Philips TV to create a very special TV night at home.
Connecting Ambilight with hue is easy. The Ambilight+hue app offers an intuitive graphical user interface that guides users through the set-up procedure. The Ambilight+hue app is supported by all Ambilight enabled Philips TVs manufactured from 2011 onwards.
The Ambilight+hue app is available in the Google Play store and in the Apple App Store as of now.
