TP Vision’s continues to receive outstanding professional recognition for the company’s remarkably successful product development campaign for its Philips Ambilight TV and Philips audio products with the company recognised at highest level once again by winning four prestigious 2023/24 EISA Awards.

The awards reflect Philips TV & Sound position as the only ‘A’ class CE brand still based in Europe and one that also continues with the significant investment of conducting all of its technology R&D, product development and design in house.

Ambilight TVs enjoy a unique and successful position in the market, thanks to their combination of outstanding picture & sound quality, innovative technology, and exceptional European design – plus the unique immersive effect of Ambilight – which all continues to find favour with EISA’s expert judges.

Once again, a Philips OLED TV has won at the high-end of the TV market but the company’s ‘The One’ 8808/8818 LCD Ambilight model has also proven the depth of quality in the Ambilight TV range by winning EISA Family TV 2023/24 – for its easy-to-understand consumer offering of high-performance PQ & SQ with all the essential features also included.

The same trend is now being followed by Philips Audio and in particular with the Fidelio branded premium products. EISA has recognised the continued progress being made with Philips Fidelio audio products and headphones by giving 2023/24 Awards to the new L4 over-ear and new T2 TWS models.

The EISA Awards (Expert Imaging and Sound Association) represent the ultimate recognition by the AV industry’s peers. For the past 41 years the organisation has been selecting the very best in TV, imaging, and sound products – all uniquely judged by the ESIA jury of experts and tech gurus representing 59 of the most respected specialist technology publications from 30 countries across the globe.

Commenting on the EISA Award wins, TP Vision’s Chief Marketing Officer Martijn Smelt said:
‘The TP Vision team absolutely welcomes all awards and wins many, but we are particularly proud of winning EISA Awards as the judging team represents the most respected and knowledgeable experts in the CE industry. Once again, our huge investment in developing all aspects of our Ambilight TVs and Fidelio Audio products inhouse continues to set the pace and we are delighted that we have been able to win multiple awards in both the EISA TV and the audio categories’.

The 2023/24 Award winners

On Awarding the 55OLED808/OLED818 as the EISA Best Buy OLED TV for 2023-2024, the judges said: An excellent image performance and a wallet-friendly price make the 55OLED808/818 the OLED TV to beat in the competitive mid-range market. Building on the success of the brand’s previous 8 series models, this new set showcases improvements to Philips’ P5 processing engine, Ambilight system, user interface and more. It’s a sublime performer with 4K HDR content, benefiting from superior light control and contrast, plus skilful tone- mapping, while HD material is effectively upscaled. As expected from a Philips screen, there’s a wealth of picture adjustments on offer to tune the 55OLED808/818’s images, plus well-judged presets for ease of use. Google TV smarts, HDMI 2.1 connectivity and a punchy integrated sound system complete a winning proposition.

On selecting ‘The One’ (55PUS8808/PUS8818) as EISA Family TV 2023/24 the judges acknowledged: this 55in Ambilight-enabled LCD TV from Philips has your living room in its sights and succeeds thanks to its S-IPS panel that supports a wide viewing angle, and a punchy, bright picture performance that isn’t fazed by ambient light. Positioned by this iconic brand as a home entertainment all-rounder, the 55PUS8808/8818 fits the bill by virtue of its accomplished 2x40W audio, multi-format HDR handling, gaming credentials and content- rich Google TV smart platform. there’s even DTS Play-Fi integration, enabling the TV to become part of a multiroom audio system, or take on centre channel duties in a surround sound setup. Philips’ elegant styling also deserves a thumbs up, but it’s the 55PUS8808/8818’s image quality and affordable pricing that seals the deal.

Recognising the outstanding qualities of the Philips Fidelio L4 over-ear headphones as the EISA Best Buy Wireless Headphones 2023/24 the judges said: Philips’ Fidelio L4 is the ultimate daily workhorse: stylish, comfortable, fully-featured and blessed with superior sound quality from its 40mm graphene- coated dynamic drivers. The company’s flagship headphone, its design encourages lengthy listening sessions thanks to cushioned earcups, Muirhead leather headband and a lightweight alloy chassis. Adaptive AnC, leveraging a quartet of strategically placed microphones, is available to keep out unwanted sound and further boost performance from the Fidelio L4’s high-quality Bluetooth connection (codec options of LDAC, AAC, SBC and LC3 provide versatility here). Other premium features include multipoint Bluetooth, fast pairing technology, USB-C hookup and battery life up to 50 hours with Quick-Charge functionality. this is a fantastic all-round package from Philips.

And in one of the most competitive categories, the judges singled out the new Philips T2 TWS as the EISA In-ear Headphones 2023/24, commenting: A bold upgrade on its predecessor, the Fidelio t2 adopts a smaller form factor but boosts sound quality and ease-of-use. the two-way acoustic design is based around a graphene-coated electro-dynamic driver, each capsule featuring a trio of mics for efficient active noise-cancelling and voice detection. They’re also comfortable and shaped to fit your ear securely, with Philips’ three-point ‘targus lock’ bringing peace of mind – you’ll never lose these while walking or travelling. Key to the appeal of this true wireless model is its compatibility with Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri and Google Assistant, and its exceptionally fast pairing. Charging times are zippy too, with only 15 minutes required for one hour of playing time. Allied to these hardware innovations is the latest Bluetooth chipset for hi-res listening.

Both the 55” OLED808 and 55” PUS8808 are on-sale across Europe now and will be launched in the UK in September. The Philips Fidelio L4 and Philips T2 will be launched in September 2023.
