It’s a record!
11th Wings for Life World Run is bigger and better than ever, raising over eight million Euros for spinal cord research
Global partner TP Vision (Philips Sports Headphones) joins a record 265,818 global participants in running for those who can’t
The 11th Wings for Life World Run has broken all records to become the largest running event in the world.
Taking place on Sunday May 5th, the 11th annual global event attracted a record number of participants with 265,818 runners – from 192 nations and 165 countries – taking part and running a total of 2,036,495Km to raise an amazing €8,104,499.
Once again, the event was officially supported by TP Vision, both as the event’s Global Headphone Partner – via the Philips Sports Headphones brand – and also through multiple company teams joining as active participants in locations throughout the world.
Over 300 employees of TP Vision actively participated along with more than 3000 consumers who joined the event via a Philips Sports Headphones’ activation in countries including Poland, Sweden, Denmark and Brazil.
National TP Vision teams also also worked together with local Wings for Life World Run teams to organise local events where participants could run together. Local runs were organised in Poland, Denmark, Sweden, and Brazil just to mention a few.
And as the Wings for Life World Run Global Headphones Partner, TP Vision made Philips Sport headphones available for many participants to try while completing their local run.
Wings for Life is a not-for-profit foundation supporting research projects and clinical studies worldwide with the goal of finding a cure for spinal cord injury. The Wings for Life World Run event has been held every year since 2014 with hundreds of thousands of people globally running on behalf of those who can’t.
Everyone gets to finish and this year the worldwide participants covered an average 11.5 kilometres before the Catcher Car – the moving finishing line – caught and passed them. All results are available to see at www.wingsforlifeworldrun.com
