TP Vision Europe, a dedicated company in the world of visual digital entertainment; fully committed to selling & marketing renowned PHILIPS TV brand, is looking for a motivated and experienced candidate to join our team in Ghent.

We particularly value innovation, agility, execution and accountability and hence we are looking for a candidate who can easily identify with these characteristics and effectively cover the completion of data relevant for handling the IT issues. As part of our organization you would be using your analytical, decision making, troubleshooting, problem solving, time management and project management skills to perform the following activities:

~75 PC’s (Notebooks/Desktops), printers, Windows/Linux servers

Responsibility

The function is expected to:

  • Operates as a 1st line contact and support desk for all employees
  • Manage efficient and effectively the resolution of support issues that are reported.
  • Act as a technical authority, providing expertise to vendors as well as towards IT team members (local and globally).
  • Communication with local IT vendors and service providers.
  • Administrating a database of local IT assets.
  • Generating IT reports for global purposes.
  • Basic administration of local and external services – Active Directory, Exchange, WDS, DNS, DHCP, Sharepoint

 

Typical work activities include:

  • Registering of IT service tickets
  • Dispatching of incoming ITSD tickets towards 2nd and 3rd line support teams.
  • Troubleshooting problems and providing advice on the appropriate action towards 2nd and 3rd line support teams
  • Analyse problems with PC (HW and SW) and offers acceptable and fast solutions to users
  • Analysing and resolving faults ranging from a major system crash to a forgotten password
  • Work on open issues with correct prioritization.
  • Handling of administration for handout of newly delivered IT equipment to users.
  • Follow-up of aging tickets and report to supervisor if not timely solved.
  • Keep users informed in a professional manner ensuring accuracy of detail
  • Logging incoming customer communication
  • Physical Asset management (PC’s, Monitors, Keyboards, Equipment and accessories, …)
  • Keeps track on frequently appearing incidents and reports to Helpdesk coordinator
  • Help to find proper solutions for underlying problems
  • Ensure that documentation and job notes are kept up-to-date and accurate
  • Installing, supporting and providing routine maintenance to hardware and software

 

Purpose Of The Position

Receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving requests from users in a timely manner.

A large proportion of the job requires talking to users directly or via telephone or Lync/Teams working in a busy (sometimes high pressure) helpdesk environment.

The role should have very good communication skills, have an excellent social behaviour in dealing with users and to treat them always as “clients”. Overseeing and reviewing aspects of users’ IT infrastructure (including network, servers, switches, storage, security, software applications, external hosting, remote offices and backups).

Technical skills required:

  • Previous experience in IT support – at least 5-6 years in IT expert role.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise and accurate documentation and job notes.
  • Window 10 and 11, MacOS advantages
  • MS Office 2019 advanced level, MS Teams
  • Windows Server administration, build and maintenance.
  • ESXi/VMware setup and administration
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of Active Directory, exchange mailbox administration
  • DNS, group policies, domain controllers –basic
  • Knowledge of Sharepoint
  • Good knowledge of Routers, Firewalls, Switches, VPN devices and wireless and other networking control and monitoring technologies.
  • Good understanding of Audio/Video technologies and experience of their administration.
  • Strong understanding of backups and restoration methods.
  • Strong understanding of NTFS and share permissions on previous & current Windows Server environments.
  • The ability to articulate at a technical level appropriate to the circumstances
  • Natural interest in IT with a desire to stay abreast of new technologies.

 

Desirable attributes:

  • Creative thinking around process analysis and improvement.
  • Skills to deal with difficult or demanding clients, vendors
  • Knowledge of Windows 2016/19 servers
  • MS Teams (Lync)
