TP Vision continues to receive the highest-level professional recognition for the outstanding performance quality and product design of the company’s Philips Ambilight TVs, with the latest win seeing three models each highlighted as the Best in category at the prestigious 2024/25 EISA Awards.
Philips TV and Sound is uniquely placed as the only European based, ‘A’ class consumer electronics brand, thanks to TP Vision’s continued, significant investment that allows the company to maintain all technology R&D, product development and product design in-house.
The latest Awards are proof that Philips TVs can be the stand-out products in a mainly ‘me-too’ market. A key factor is Philips TV’s best in European design but success is also partly due to innovative technologies such as the company’s multi-award winning P5 picture processing and the uniquely immersive Ambilight system – all of which continue to receive the most positive response from EISA’s expert judges.
For the past 42 years, the EISA organisation (Expert Imaging and Sound Association) has been appointing juries of tech experts and guru’s, now from 60 of the most respected specialist technology publications from 30 countries across the globe, to find the very best of TV, imaging and sound products, leading to the EISA Awards become the ultimate recognition of the AV industry’s peers.
Commenting on the latest EISA Award wins, Johnson Su, General Manager Europe TP Vision – Philips TV says: “The TP Vision team is particularly proud of winning three 24/25 EISA Awards as they represent the views of the most respected and knowledgeable judges in the field of consumer electronics. We make a considerable investment to develop all aspects of our Ambilight TVs in-house, so winning these three awards is the official recognition of the success of that strategy. We are delighted that EISA continues to agree that Philips TVs are the benchmark in the premium TV market.”
The 2024/25 Award winners
On voting the 55OLED809 as the EISA Best Buy OLED TV for 2024-2025, the EISA judges said: A mid-range TV that comfortably outperforms its price tag, the 55OLED809 marries its high-brightness OLED EX panel to Philips’ latest P5 AI processing engine, with stunning results…. accompanying the 55OLED809’s superb picture performance is a 70W/2.1-channel speaker system offering clear, expansive sonics. Philips’ set also caters to gamers, with automatic game mode switching, VRR to 144Hz, rapid response times and a feature-packed Game Bar menu. And with its Ambient Intelligence V3 system automatically adjusting pictures based on ambient light conditions, you’ll get an outstanding HDR performance even in a bright room.
On selecting ‘The Xtra’ 65PML9009 as EISA Best Family TV 2024/25 the EISA judges acknowledged:
Philips’ 65PML9009, also known as ‘The Xtra’, makes use of up-to-date technology. A Mini LED model with a 144H VA panel and Quantum Dot colour filter, it employs the company’s 7th Gen P5 processor to craft sharp and detailed 4K HDR pictures, with brightness peaks reaching 1000 nits. The TV’s easy to use and customisable Titan OS puts a variety of premium apps and channels at your fingertips, so owners will never be short of something to watch. Helping the 65PML9000 blend into any living room are its slender anthracite-grey bezel and feet, plus three-sided Ambilight illumination. This is a family-friendly TV with no compromises.
On awarding the Philips 65OLED+959 as EISA Best Home Theatre OLED TV the judges commented:
Philips’ 65OLED+959 demonstrates the potency of the brand’s P5/AI Dual Engine processor, paired to a new OLED META panel, plus a 5.1.2-channel sound system developed by regular collaborator
Bowers & Wilkins. The result? Gorgeous 4K HDR pictures with true blacks, vibrant colours and a best-in-class HDR brightness, joined by an involving surround sound/Dolby Atmos experience that delights with its fidelity, power and scale. Adding to the TV’s high-end appeal is the new Ambilight Plus engine. The 65OLED+959 is a fantastic flatscreen that maximizes picture and sound quality in a beautiful aesthetic package.
The 55” OLED809 and 65” PML9009 are on-sale now with the 65OLED+959 on-sale in in September.
