OLED+959 – The outstanding Premium OLED TV
The OLED+959 hits a true flagship status thanks to its unique combination of outstanding image quality, superb market leading TV sound – from the integrated Bowers & Wilkins sound system – and a totally immersive viewing experience from the new Ambilight Plus system.
Ambilight Plus takes immersive viewing to new heights by adding multiple lenses to the individual rear mounted colour LEDs. Ambilight Plus can create a more dynamic, larger overall halo with more resolution and can project up to four different halos at different depths to add a new two-dimensional impact to the overall immersive effect.
Reference quality images are achieved by combining a new 8th Gen version of the P5 AI Dual Engine processor with the new META 2.0 OLED panel and META Multi Booster Algorithm.
The powerful 8th Gen P5 AI Dual Engine processor includes Ambient Intelligence V3, a new AI Machine Learn Sharpness V2 system and a new Smart Bit Enhancement algorithm (V3).
Ambient Intelligence V3 now includes optimisation of HDR to the ambient light level – working in harmony with the HDR Advanced feature to monitor and adjust HDR performance, to ensure the exceptional HDR performance can be maintained in bright viewing conditions while maintaining the director’s creative intent in darker rooms. Ambient Intelligence V3 increases contrast, in real time, to better match with the light output of the display for low light scenes or to reduce clipping in very bright scenes.
AI Machine Sharpness V2 uses new algorithms and the additional power of the new twin chip P5 AI to create more detailed and super realistic pictures while the new Smart Bit Enhancement V3 algorithm extends 8-bit video to near 14-bits precision – to solve any banding in low-quality, greyed zones, without detail loss in other parts of the picture.
The META 2.0 panel now features Micro Lens Array Plus technology with an improved light efficiency increasing output thanks to new 3D MLA lens analysis equipment that optimises the angles and curvature of the MLA Lenses.
The inclusion of the new META Multi Booster algorithm allows peak brightness to reach up to 3000 Nits – a new high for OLED technology.
The META 2.0 Multi Booster algorithm also includes a Detail Enhancer to optimise picture quality in extremely low grayscale areas, optimising HDR performance for both bright and dark content.
Naturally, as the flagship of the range, the OLED+959 also offers market leading TV sound quality thanks to a new integrated 5.1.2 sound system. The Bowers & Wilkins audio engineering team has called upon on its expertise for creating premium sound from compact spaces to develop new bespoke, high-performance, slimline 30 x 50mm drivers especially for the new OLED+ models. For the OLED+959, the system accommodates a total of 18 drivers while maintaining the set’s slim silhouette, and without compromising on audio performance.
The system includes dedicated, front-firing, left, centre, right (LCR) speakers, with each channel featuring two 30 x 50mm mid-range drivers plus a 19mm titanium dome tweeter, now with a Nautilus tube. The left & right side-firing speakers each include two 30 x 50mm drivers, while the Atmos channels also include two 30 x 50mm for each of the left and right elevation speakers.
All of the speakers are acoustically isolated, mounted in their own rigid enclosures. At the rear of the set is a dedicated bass enclosure featuring a 75mm subwoofer supported by two pairs of balanced 45 x 65mm passive radiators.
The amplifier now features six modules to offer 12 channels of amplification for a total power rating of 102W with each channel having its own dedicated signal processing.
The overall result is an integrated TV that is capable of projecting a high-resolution, extended cinema quality sound far into the viewing room, with a spacious sound stage that has both distinct height and width, plus deep accurate bass.
For viewers seeking even deeper bass, the OLED+959 includes the option to connect an external subwoofer.
The OLED+959 can also offer a flagship level gaming experience in via a new Game Bar in addition of a MEMC gaming and VRR extended to 144Hz including for Dolby Vision Gaming.
The new Game Bar is designed to allow gamers to quickly customise, enhance and monitor the gaming experience. Whether that’s fast paced FPS, where latency and precision are everything, to a more lean-back cinematic RPG, gamers can choose the corresponding game profile and with a couple of key presses, picture, sound and Ambilight settings are all adjusted.
Gamers can also activate different picture enhancements, to provide a more immersive, more focused, and fun gaming experience. HDMI audio/video status information is also monitored and offers a discrete FPS indicator to monitor the performance of the selected gaming setup.
MEMC allows gamers to activate the Smooth option from the sets P5 AI motion processing to enjoy in judder free motion and now with minimal latency – reduced from 200ms to 40ms.
The OLED+959 also looks exceptional thanks to the best of European design.
The slimline OLED+959 can be wall mounted or floor standing via its minimalist, mid-slate coloured aluminum and steel stand. The forward, side and up-firing speaker enclosures are also covered in a slate gray Kvadrat Audiomix fabric.
OLED+909 – Discreet form factor, OLED+ performance
The OLED+909 maintains unique OLED+ levels of performance by combining the PQ from the latest 8th Gen P5 AI processing and META Technology 2.0 with the sound quality of a Bowers & Wilkins 3.1 frontal sound system and the unique immersion off four-sided Ambilight – all included within the discreet profile of the set.
The 8th Gen P5 AI includes the new Ambient Intelligence V3 feature that now includes HDR optimisation to the ambient light level – working in harmony with the HDR Advanced feature to monitor and adjust HDR quality, and ensure that exceptional HDR performance can be maintained in bright viewing conditions, by increasing contrast – in real time – in low light scenes to better match with the light output of the display – or by reducing clipping in very bright scenes.
The META 2.0 panel features Micro Lens Array Plus technology and the META Multi Booster Algorithm to increase light output up to a new peak of up to 3000 Nits – a new high for OLED technology.
The exceptional images are joined by outstanding sound quality with the Bowers & Wilkins engineers working to maintain audio quality, given the OLED+909’s discreet design and the reduced height available for the 3.1 front firing sound system.
The system includes dedicated, front-firing, left, centre, right (LCR) speakers, with each channel featuring two 30mm x 50mm mid-range drivers plus a 19mm titanium dome tweeter, now with a Nautilus tube and with each speaker acoustically isolated within its own rigid enclosure. At the rear of the set is a dedicated bass enclosure features a 75mm subwoofer supported by four passive radiators.
Eight channels of amplification for a total power rating of 81W is available with each channel having its own dedicated signal processing. The overall result is a high-resolution, exceptionally refined TV sound with a combination of deep accurate bass with a wide sound stage.
The system is also fine-tuned to match the specific screen size to ensure the crystal-clear dialogue aligns with the centre of the screen.
For viewers seeking even deeper bass, the OLED+909 includes the option to connect an external subwoofer.
The superb images and sound are also delivered as a totally unique and immersive experience by the inclusion of a four-sided version of the Ambilight system.
The 8th Gen P5 AI enhances the gaming experience via the new Game Bar, MEMC functionality and increasing VRR to 144Hz – including for Dolby Vision Gaming.
MEMC allows gamers to activate the Smooth option from the sets P5 AI motion processing to enjoy in judder free motion and now with minimal latency – reduced from 200ms to 40ms.
The best of European design ensures that the OLED+909 has the style to match the performance.
The OLED+909 has a minimalist, metal frame bezel with the frontal sound system integrated along the bottom of the screen and covered in Kvadrat Audiomix cloth.
The stand comprises two ‘pill’ shaped, low-profile, extruded metal feet in a black sheen finish.
