Amsterdam, 23rd May, 2013 –TP Vision unveils its new range of Philips MediaSuite hospitality TVs. The slim, energy-efficient LED TVs offer versatile connectivity and easily connect to hotel networks and guests’ mobile devices. Dedicated hotel features give an advanced guest experience, minimise the effort required for setup and configuration, and reduce maintenance and running costs. Philips MediaSuite features five models with screen sizes from 66cm (26”) to 140cm (55”). They will be available from the second quarter 2013 onwards in Europe, Russia, Australia and New Zealand.
Appealing design made of high-grade materials
Philips MediaSuite hotel TVs have sleek good looks characterised by a thin brushed-aluminium frame around the screen. A minimal, elegant stand made of dark silver aluminium complements the contemporary styling of the TVs.
Philips OXIGEN serves both guests and hoteliers
Philips MediaSuite hospitality TVs offer a comprehensive feature set dedicated to the hospitality business. Newly branded Philips OXIGEN features are designed to deliver both guests and hoteliers the latest in connectivity while ensuring low cost of ownership. OXIGEN connectivity offers access to cloud-based online apps and facilitates connections between mobile devices and TVs. Remote management tools as well as additional revenue opportunities aim to minimize total cost of ownership.
Guests and hoteliers benefit from versatile connectivity
The broad selection of connectivity features, including integrated Wi-fi, Ethernet, HDMI and USB, serves both guests and hoteliers well. Secure SimplyShare allows movies, pictures and music to stream wirelessly from guests’ mobile devices to MediaSuite TVs. Thanks to integrated IPTV and support of Serial Xpress Protocol (SXP) Philips MediaSuite TVs seamlessly connect to existing interactive systems as well as IPTV channels. Philips MediaSuite TVs can even run interactive systems without a set-top box.
Remote configuration and maintenance
The PC-based tool SmartInstall allows remote installation, configuration and channel mapping to be carried out on MediaSuite TVs without entering guest rooms. All set up and maintenance work can be done remotely with little effort.
Secure Smart TV services
The cloud-based Philips Smart TV platform provides access to a huge number of apps, catch-up TV services and social media networks. To ensure data privacy, Smart TV automatically deletes personal information after usage. In order to enable optimal bandwidth management, AppControl allows hoteliers to add, delete and sort apps and create different profiles for different rooms. To facilitate configuration, app settings can easily be changed remotely on the TVs. This means hoteliers can choose to offer the full spectrum of Smart TV services with premium options for some rooms whilst other rooms might have a reduced feature set only.
Interactive, customised hotel info pages
SmartInfo on Philips MediaSuite TVs allows hoteliers to share customized information with their guests directly on the TV screen. Guests receive up-to-date hotel or city information and relevant promotions like spa or restaurant offerings. Templates help hoteliers to create interactive SmartInfo pages, which enable guests to navigate through different levels and items.
Picture and sound quality for advanced multimedia experience
Philips MediaSuite hotel TVs build on the Philips heritage of great picture quality delivering images with vivid colours and great contrast. On Philips MediaSuite sets sound quality and picture quality go hand-in-hand. Powerful stereo speakers fit cleverly into the TVs’ compact housing to provide rich, wide sound. Volume limitation predefines the TVs’ maximum volume to prevent other guests from being disturbed.
Sustainability
Philips MediaSuite TVs help to reduce hotels’ ecological footprint. Thanks to their low power consumption they are allowed to carry energy label ratings A++, A+, and A depending on the screen size. Guests can also help to save energy; if they press the green Eco button on the remote control they switch the TV into energy efficient mode. This can further reduce MediaSuite TVs’ already low energy consumption by 50%.
