Amsterdam, March 27th, 2014 – TP Vision presents the first series of its new 2014 range of Philips TVs. The new portfolio spans every dimension from Full HD to Ultra HD TVs, from large screens to small screens, and from value devices to high-end TVs. The world’s first Ambilight TVs powered by Android allow us to set ourselves apart from competition and deliver an experience that goes beyond the ordinary. The newly unveiled models incorporate a further improvement of our unique Ambilight feature while our Android-powered Philips TVs offer consumers speed and the Smart TV experience they expect.
Unique Ambilight provides an immersive TV experience
Our new Philips TVs go beyond the ordinary. Now, around half of the newly introduced series will feature unrivalled Ambilight that creates an exceptional and immersive viewing experience by throwing a soft glow of light matching the on-screen colours onto the wall behind the Philips TV. A new Ambilight Gaming setting will provide gamers with ultra-fast Ambilight reaction times during gaming to enhance their game experience and add a whole new dimension. New apps, which are supported in our upcoming Ambilight range, will allow consumers to interact with Ambilight during sport events and show TP Vision’s strong commitment to continuing the great success story of this light technology.
Android makes Philips TVs faster and even smarter
Since the launch of Smart TV consumers have continuously compared the experience to phones and tablets. Philips TVs powered by Android now deliver on that expectation of speed and content by combining a quad core processor with Android, one of the most widespread operating systems in the market today, recognized by people world-wide. Combining that strength with the large size of TV screens TP Vision brings new concepts to the TV ensuring that TVs remain relevant entertainment technology devices for today and in the future. The integration of Android into Philips TVs will make our TV offering even smarter. They will combine the advantages of two worlds: users can access the already comprehensive Philips Smart TV offering plus the outstanding selection of Android apps and content available in Google Play StoreTM. The highly responsive Android operating system together with very powerful chipsets and large-screens will allow Philips TVs to offer consumers a new experience from gaming, video on demand services to local relevant apps. The introduction of the new TVs will be accompanied by an international, sensational campaign.
