Amsterdam, 21st February, 2013 – TP Vision unveils its new range of Philips PFL4508 and PFL5008 Smart TVs giving an advanced TV experience through a combination of great design and picture quality. The Philips PFL4508 series and the Philips PFL5008 series will be available in Europe and Russia in the second quarter of 2013.

Philips PFL4508 series
The Philips PFL4508 series spans screen sizes from 81 cm (32’’) through to140 cm (55’’). The great value PFL4508 TVs have an appealing design characterised by the thin brushed-aluminium frame around the screen and a minimal, elegant stand made of dark silver aluminium.

Thanks to integrated Wi-Fi, the new 3D-TVs offer easy wireless access to Philips Smart TV services and applications. Support of Wi-Fi Miracast™ and Philips My Remote App allows easy content sharing with connected mobile devices. An optional USB webcam allows users to enjoy Skype® video calls on the TV’s large screen.

All Philips PFL4508 models are 3D Max enabled. Thanks to the support of active shutter glasses technology they display 3D movies in stunning Full HD resolution. They also feature 2D-3D conversion and 3D Depth adjustment to allow users to customise 3D content to their personal taste. Dual View Gaming on Philips PFL4508 sets delivers a stunning gaming experience for 2D two-player games.

To optimise the panel’s contrast, the PFL4508 series TVs feature Micro Dimming which locally dims the edge LED backlight relative to the content shown on the screen, resulting in both deep blacks and bright colours within the same picture.

The 4500 series Philips TVs also ensure that sound quality and picture quality go hand-in-hand. Powerful Smart Stereo speakers, with an output of 20 Watts, cleverly fit into the TVs’ compact housing to provide rich, wide sound.

Philips PFL5008 series
Responding to consumer demand, 2-sided Ambilight can now be found in all Philips PFL5008 TVs for the first time. In addition, they come with many more best-in-class features and functions such as embedded Wi-Fi for wireless access to Philips Smart TV services. Support of Wi-Fi MiracastTM makes sharing content with other connected mobile devices easy. In addition, the 5000 Series Philips TVs are ready for Skype® video conferencing using an optional USB camera.

The PFL5008’s panels sit in a very small rim made of black brushed steel that harmoniously blends in with the small silver-brushed foil below the screen and a minimal, open U-form stand made of silver-coloured aluminium.

All PFL5008 series TVs feature Easy 3D based on passive 3D technology. They offer 2D-3D conversion, 3D Depth adjustment and allow for dual view gaming. They are packed with many more great picture quality features including a 300Hz Perfect Motion Rate for high motion sharpness and Micro Dimming for improved contrast with deep blacks and bright colours.

To offer an immersive multimedia experience, the PFL5008 series models are equipped with powerful stereo speakers supporting Ambi-wOOx for optimised, extended bass reproduction.
