TPV Cares team up with the Barça Foundation
Barcelona, January 22nd, 2024
TP Vision, MMD, AOC, and PPDS team up with the Barça Foundation to support life-changing projects and initiatives for vulnerable children globally
TPV Cares: Continuing a deepening relationship with footballing giant, FC Barcelona – which has seen TP Vision become the Club’s Main Partner, with PPDS as the official supplier of LED and digital signage displays at the Spotify Camp Nou stadium – this new partnership will provide invaluable funds for projects that support the health, wellbeing, and education of vulnerable and disadvantaged children around the world.
TPV – the world’s leading supplier of displays and the group behind, TP Vision, MMD-Monitors and Displays, AOC, and PPDS – is proud to announce a partnership with the FC Barcelona Foundation, confirming a long-term commitment to the raising of invaluable funds to support the health, wellbeing, and education of vulnerable and disadvantaged children around the world.
Each as a part of TPV Cares – the home of TPV’s social and environmental impact initiatives – TP Vision, MMD- Monitors and Displays, AOC, and PPDS have pledged their support to the Barça Foundation, combining their resources to support the charity’s life-changing initiatives and projects.
Set up in 2022, TPV Cares supports communities, charities, and locally organised fundraising and projects in more than 30 countries. From taking on gruelling tasks, such as endurance walks, marathons, and mountain climbs, to providing vital financial funds and solutions – including Philips TVs, professional and interactive displays, desktop monitors, speakers, headphones, and more – TPV Cares helps make a difference to the lives of many. One goal
Celebrating 20 years, and aligned with TPV Cares’ ambitions for positive change, the Barça Foundation was set up with the mission of using sport as a tool for social transformation within the reach of children and young people in vulnerable situations, to improve their quality of life. Last season, the Barça Foundation supported projects positively impacting more than 560,000 children, families, and young people across 15 countries. FC Barcelona donates up to 0.7 per cent of its annual earnings to the Foundation, with the players also donating 0.5 per cent of their salaries, with total money raised in 2022/23 topping €14.2 million.
The partnership between TPV Cares and the Barça Foundation further deepens TPV’s relationship with the footballing giant, after TP Vision became official ‘Main Partner’ for the 2023/2024 season, with its Philips Ambilight TV branding featured prominently on the sleeve of the men’s first team home and away football shirts.
Marta Segú, Executive director of the FC Barcelona Foundation: “Based on a new holistic programmatic approach, the FC Barça Foundation works in three main areas: education and protection, community action and health and emotional wellbeing through its own programs and methodologies. In all our programs we use sport as an important tool to promote social inclusion, and we have a special focus on gender equality and diversity in all forms. We believe that partnerships with organisations like TPV Cares are key to our programs and campaigns – helping us to change the world through sport. Together we can help to make sure no child is left offside.”
No child offside
Ahead of the official signing of the agreement, scheduled for January 22, several projects for 2024 and beyond have already been identified by the Barça Foundation, including a number in and around Barcelona and Catalonia.
The projects are aligned to the programs ‘Health & Emotional Wellbeing’ related to improve the well-being of children in hospitals and day centers, ‘Education & Protection’ related to schools and Barça Teens, and ‘Community action’ where sport is used to empower girls, boys and young people.
TP Vision, MMD, AOC, and PPDS will be sharing their experiences working with the Barça Foundation in due course via the TPV Cares website.
Speaking at the official launch of the TPV Cares and FC Barça Foundation partnership at the Camp Nou stadium, Victoria Orellana, International PR Manager at TP Vision and a part of the TPV Cares team, said: “Across all the TPV Cares business units, making a difference through meaningful innovation, with our Philips and AOC branded products, and our people, is at the heart of all we do. Together we continuously explore meaningful ways to not only enhance the experiences for our customers, but to find new ways to support communities and help people to reach their full potential. That’s our mission every single day.”
She continued: “Our TP Vision relationship with FC Barcelona officially started in 2023 and I’m delighted to see this extended with this new partnership in 2024. The collaboration between TPV Cares and the Barça Foundation is part of a mutual strategy to proactively seek partners who share the same values and philosophy, to truly make a difference in people’s lives.”
Stefan van Sabben, Global Director CSR and Sustainability at TPV, added: “The Barça Foundation has changed the lives of many through many meaningful projects and we’re delighted to be supporting them in their ongoing efforts. I’m incredibly proud of what TPV Cares has achieved to date and, working alongside the Barça Foundation, we look forward to accelerating those efforts and making even more positive changes around the world.”
