Scope

The Key Account Manager Philips Accessories looks after customers within Europe; UK & Ireland and is located in within this region.
The KAM reports directly to the Philips Accessories Sales and Marketing Director, Europe.

Responsibility
  • Account Management & Business Development: Serve as the primary account manager for current European clients and helping to drive new business development within the UK and Irish markets.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement Joint Business Plans (JBPs) aligned with our commercial goals, ensuring growth and competitiveness.
  • P&L Management: Take ownership of account profitability, optimizing both topline and bottom line to maximize account potential.
  • Client Relations: Act as the main point of contact for key customers across Europe, maintaining productive day-to-day interactions.
  • Retail Partner Collaboration: Lead and participate in collaborative discussions with key retail partners, ensuring our brand is a priority in key tenders, selections, and promotional opportunities.
  • Opportunity Seizing: Proactively engage with retailers to capitalize on deals and promotional events, ensuring swift responses to capture any ad-hoc opportunities.
  • Cross-functional Relationships: Build strong relationships beyond retail with stakeholders in B2B and public sectors to leverage enterprise-level opportunities.
  • Data Analysis & Distribution Optimization: Gather and analyze sell-out data to address distribution gaps and optimize sales channels. Implement a Category Management approach where possible.
  • Quarterly Reviews & Strategy Meetings: Organize and lead Quarterly Business Review Meetings (QBRMs) and top-to-top sessions with commercial managers, covering performance, new product developments, and promotional plans.
  • Operational Coordination: Oversee essential administrative tasks, working closely with Order Desk, Supply Chain, and Credit Control to ensure efficient order flow. Support new line listings, product lifecycle management, and online product visibility by territory.

 

Primary Goals:

  1. Drive development within existing European distribution channels.
  2. Support business expansion efforts in the UK and Ireland.

Education And Related Experience
  • BA/BSc Degree desired.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of working experience, preferably within CE industry.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent English communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of installing, motivating and inspiring a team to obtain/improve the Quality KPI’s.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and adapt to change quickly.
  • History of setting and delivering a growth agenda.
  • Interpersonal savvy; an ability to effectively work with and connect with all levels of employees across multiple functions and geographies.
Preferred Skills
  • Background in Consumer Electronics: A solid commercial background in the Consumer Electronics industry, with experience managing distributor accounts from an "inside vendor" perspective preferred.
  • Account & Relationship Management: Demonstrated experience in key account management, particularly with major clients like Argos, FMCG sectors, and Amazon.
  • Negotiation Expertise: Advanced negotiation skills with the ability to persuasively champion our brand.
  • Commercial & Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical skills to balance strategic initiatives with daily operational needs.
  • Independent & Effective Communicator: Confident communicator with a strong listening ability, capable of managing complex, multi-level relationships.
  • Self-Starter: Highly autonomous, able to drive progress without constant oversight.
